O'Keeffe in New Mexico

This traveling seminar traces the artistic development of the iconic American artist, Georgia O’Keeffe. Trip includes a visit to her Modernist adobe home in Abiqui, as well as the landscape around her beloved Ghost Ranch. Talk with both friends of O’Keeffe and leading O’Keeffe scholars. Immerse yourself in the history and landscape surrounding this most important female artist.

Day One

Individuals arrive at the Inn on the Alameda. The Inn on the Alameda is nestled in the heart of Santa Fe between the historic Santa Fe Plaza and the galleries of Canyon Road. This is the ideal location from which to explore museums, shopping, and restaurants.

Ellen's knowledge of O'Keeffe comes partly from first-hand conversations with the artist. Ellen is the editor of a book on O'Keeffe entitled "From the Far Away Nearby." Following the reception, the group will walk to Coyote Café or travel by bus. Ellen and Royal Road Tours Study Leader will highlight important historical elements en route to dinner and pass through the historic Santa Fe Plaza.
